The Guild CharterGo Rin No Sho was formed with the intent of progressing to World of Warcrafts 'End-Game' raids about 6 months into The Burning Crusade.
The guild is named after the book Go Rin No Sho (A Book of Five Rings) written in 1645 by Miyamoto Musashi, said to be the greatest swordsman that ever lived, who was never defeated in any duel from the age of 12 until he died in his sixties! This is his book of strategy. I read this book a long time ago, and it struck me as a good name for a guild. We wanted to move forwards in this game and see the 'end-game' content, and that will take some strategy and intent.
For those of you who want to learn more about Go Rin No Sho the book:
Go Rin No Sho is a PVE Raiding Guild, and while our members do participate in PVP, our purpose is to complete all the content Blizzard can throw at us, in a timely and organised manner. We like to push into new content as soon as possible and figure out how to kill new bosses using our game skill and brain power, with minimal resorting to tactics provided on the internet.
Our members like to know how to push their class to achieve the best they can in raids, so spend a lot of time learning about and theorycrafting their class and spec. We are looking for other people who are also similarly motivated and understanding of how their class works.
Member BehaviourThe Code of Conduct:(Credit to the guild: Chupathingy)1. Strive to treat all other players as you wish to be treated.
2. Racism, sexism, bigotry, or threats towards another person are not tolerated by this guild. This includes using slurs based on race, creed, sex, or sexual identity.
3. Do not harass, taunt, bother, stalk, or otherwise grief other players, whether in guild or not.
4. Do not play unethically: no cheating, hacking, gold-selling, botting, gliding, etc. This includes hacking, ninja-ing, intentionally causing wipes, etc.
5. Do not beg. Very little is more irritating than getting asked for money, items, etc. in a game. If you want to beg, go to the street corner; this guild, and our server in general is not the place for it.
Go Rin No Sho guild members are expected to hold themselves to a higher standard and refrain from inappropriate behaviour in game. It is up to you to be the bigger person and remember this is just a game. If another person is harassing you, use the appropriate channels (ignore them, report them to an officer, report them to a GM).
Remember, any time you're interacting with other players, you are a representative of the guild. Please behave how you would want our guild remembered. We want this guild to be seen as a home for good, helpful, active players, and to establish a reputation as a quality guild for other players to join.
RaidingOur Raiding Times are as follows (server times):
| Sunday - Thursday | 20:30 - 23:30 |
| Friday & Saturday | No Raids |
Raiders are expected to attend 3 raids every week, to enable us to guarantee consistent capability in terms of numbers to hit 25-man challenges.
All raiders should come with enough consumables to last the entire evening. Enchants on your gear are also expected, as well as correct gem selection and raiding talent specs.
Everyone should have Ventrilo running (preferably with a mic) during raids and are also required to have certain addons installed.
Most of us are adults and at work or busy during the days, and want to have a good evening raiding with friends, so while we do like to have a laugh, we expect everyone to put in effort to achieve our aims for the evening, especially on progress raids and new content.

Anyone who whines, flames, begs, causes any tension or offense or brings the good name of Go Rin No Sho into disrepute will be warned and if serious enough removed from the guild. We all enjoy having a laugh but there are limits to what is acceptable. Think before you speak or make a post and use common sense.
