The Guild Charter
This guild was formed to bring together in-game friends who wanted to make some serious progress in World of Warcraft, to see the high end raiding content, but to still enjoy the game.
The guild is named after the book Go Rin No Sho (A Book of Five Rings) written in 1645 by Miyamoto Musashi, said to be the greatest swordsman that ever lived, who was never defeated in any duel from the age of 12 until he died in his sixties! This is his book of strategy. I read this book when I was a teenager (a long time ago - lol), and though I have forgotten a lot of what I studied, it struck me as a good name for a guild, because a. Most people wont have a clue what it means and b. We want to move forwards in this game and get to see the 'end-game' raid content and that will take some strategy and intent.
Everyone we have in the guild so far has done a great deal to advance their own characters and their friends as well, by pushing themselves they have helped push each other, and we want other players who are similarly motivated to join us.
For those of you who want to learn more about Go Rin No Sho the book, I have a couple of links here:

Member Behaviour
The Code of Conduct:
(Credit to the guild: Chupathingy)
1. Strive to treat all other players as you wish to be treated.
2. Racism, sexism, bigotry, or threats towards another person are not tolerated by this guild. This includes using slurs based on race, creed, sex, or sexual identity.
3. Do not harass, taunt, bother, stalk, or otherwise grief other players, whether in guild or not.
4. Do not play unethically: no cheating, hacking, gold-selling, botting, gliding, etc. This includes hacking, ninja-ing, intentionally causing wipes, etc.
5. Do not beg. Very little is more irritating than getting asked for money, items, etc. in a game we play to escape the real world. If you want to beg, go to the street corner; this guild, and our server in general is not the place for it.
Go Rin No Sho guild members are expected to hold themselves to a higher standard and refrain from inappropriate behaviour in game. It is up to you to be the bigger person and remember this is just a game. If another person is harassing you, use the appropriate channels (ignore them, report them to an officer, report them to a GM).
Remember, any time you're interacting with other players, you are a representative of the guild. Please behave how you would want our guild remembered. We want this guild to be seen as a home for good, helpful, active players, and to establish a reputation as a quality guild for other players to join.
Raiding Days
Our Raiding Times are as follows (server times):
Sunday - Thursday 20:30 - 00:00
Friday & Saturday - No Raids
Everyone is expected to sign up to an average of 3-4 raids every week, to enable us to guarantee consistent capability in terms of numbers to hit 25-man challenges.
Most of us are adults and at work or busy during the days, and these times may vary.
Loot Rules
To reward all of our raiders fairly we use the EPGP Loot System in all 25 man raids. This system ensure everyone, regardless of rank, gets an fair chance to receive loot, and it also discourages points hording because all points earned Decay each week. For a more detailed description please read EPGP Wiki. For all other instances we use Group Loot.
Guild Ranks
Within Go Rin No Sho there are 6 Guild Ranks:
Artisan - This rank is for low level alts of full guild members and for retired players.
Ground - Ground rank is for new trial members. This rank has no access to the guild bank, but may receive loot if higher ranked players pass.
Water - Water are full guild members, with full rights to raid loot, and some limited access to the guild bank.
Fire - Fire is our full raiding rank. You may access the guild bank and have equal rights on loot from raids. Fire rank may also pay for raid repairs from the guild bank.
Wind - Wind are the controlling force of the guild, considered to be the leaders of the guild. They have the highest access to guild bank funds and items, and can demote/promote, control EPGP and invite, promote and remove people from the guild.
Void - The Guild Master.
Progressing up ranks is based on your commitment to help the guild and its members to improve and progress through raiding, your reliability, generosity and honesty.
Go Rin No Sho is a constantly changing & evolving Guild, and we hope you will enjoy being a part of that experience!
