Raiding and Loot Policy

All raids of 25 players will be placed on the Raid Teams Forum and on the in game Calendar at least week in advance, maybe longer for guild firsts. You need to reply to the thread indicating only if you cannot make the raid, are going to be late, or if you are willing to sit out for certain bosses etc. If you don't post you should be online and outside the raid instance at raid time.

Our Raiding Times are as follows (server time):

Sunday - 20:30 – 23:30
Monday - 20:30 – 23:30
Tuesday - 20:30 – 23:30
Wedneday - 20:30 – 23:30
Thursday 20:30 - 23:30
Friday - Free Night
Saturday - Free Night

On Free Nights, there may be other events organised, such as PVP, Alts runs for Naxxramas etc.

At 20:30 you will be invited by a promoted raid member.

PLEASE NOTE: If there are not enough people signed or if the raid leader and officer decide its the wrong class balance the raid will either be changed to one more suited to the class balance or cancelled for the evening.

Signing up for raids and showing up will earn you Effort Points (EP), which can help you in your loot bidding, but if you sign up as available and then do not show up, you will be penalised. For full details of EPGP Penalties & Rewards please read Loot Policy.

There are 4 25-player raids scheduled every week. You should attend at least 3 of of these every week, to enable us to guarantee consistent capability in terms of numbers to hit 25-man challenges. The Guild Raid Week starts on Sunday.

If you are going to be unable to attend your raid quota please let us know on the Extended Absence Forum. Any character absent for longer than 14 days in game without posting in the relevant thread will be marked as AFK and have a PM posted within this forum, then 1 week to answer that PM (you will get an email to your registered e-mail account to say that we have posted you a message). If after this time no contact has been made, your character and alts will be demoted and your position taken by another player. This helps keep it fair and flexible to give people raid spaces and guild spots.

If you sign up as available and then cannot make it, please try to update the forum information to reflect this. You may also use the Raid Team forums to let us know if you might be late. Cancelling a confirmed sign-up on the raid day after 15:00 Server Time for whatever reason is always considered a late cancellation. The dead line may be explicitly set earlier by the raid leader/officers.

Please note your minimum raid quota does not mean only raids you want to go to, it means the raids scheduled by the officers, whatever they are. Failing to attend your minimum raids one week, or skipping progress raids, without a valid reason will mean you may not be invited to the next raids, or if you do come, you will not be allowed to receive any loot.

Raiding Expectations:

  • All members are expected to raid and be dedicated to progression.
  • All members are expected to sign up for every raid, indicating their availability.
  • Consumables for 4 hours of raiding:
    • Flasks & Elixirs relevant to your class & spec.
    • Potion of Speed, Potion of Wild Magic, Indestructible Potion relevant to your class & spec.

  • Maxed out on First Aid and have plenty Heavy Frostweave Bandage.
  • Raiding Talents & Gems (Class/Role Leaders will inspect you for this).
  • All Required Addons Installed and Turned On (see Addons & Downloads Forum).
  • Ventrilo On & able to hear what is being said, and respond fast to instructions.
  • Outside the Entrance to the Raid Listed on the Calendar at 20:30.
  • Know the tactics, your role and be able to execute it to a very high standard.
  • Players unable to execute a role may be dropped for that boss.
  • Players unable to perform to the standard expected, may be dropped until they can demonstrate they have taken steps to correct their weaknesses.
  • Fire and higher can expect funds and items from the bank to support raiding.

If you don't bring reagents, buff foods, flasks etc., then you may be removed from the raid for the evening, even if that means the raid has to be cancelled. You should consider the rest of the raid and the guild when making a commitment to raid.

Talent Change & Swapping

For certain encounters you may be required to change spec, or to swap out of the raid for a different class to enable the guild to defeat a certain boss.

You may also be asked to sit out for a certain boss or bosses, if we feel your DPS is not up to the required standard for a certain boss (e.g. Festerguts 5 minute enrage timer). This may also work in reverse, so you might be asked to sit out for easier bosses to allow under geared or inexperienced members to get loot/tokens and practice, and then swapped in at the harder bosses.

If you are asked to do this, you will still receive full EPGP as if you were in the raid.

Raid Chat & Ventrilo

When we are discussing tactics or fighting a boss, raid chat and all class specific channels such as the healer channel, warlock channel etc., need to be kept clear of anything other than important information. Ventrilo should also be kept quiet, and used only for instructions from the raid leader and any important messages. Do not ask for heals, re-buffs, resurrections etc., on Vent or during a boss fight or spam/type nonsense.

The Raid

Everyone should have a basic understanding of each boss fight to speed up raiding tactics discussion, by reading the tactics posted on our forums, and doing your 'homework' on raid bosses. During the raid, please stay focused on your own performance and keep raid chatter to a minimum, unless you have a role which requires giving information.
